The Children’s Book Council of Australia is pleased to present our current vehicle for presenting reviews of Australian children’s books – Reading Time Online.
The CBCA has a strong commitment and a long history of reviewing Australian children’s books. For many of our seventy years reviews were presented in our print journal Reading Time.
Reading Time Online replaces Reading Time in print and includes all the old favourites such as reviews, interviews with established and emerging authors and illustrators and reports from CBCA judges.
It will also include booklists, articles on topics of interest to the children’s book world, guest blog posts and more.
As CBCA approaches our seventy year milestone in 2015 we celebrate this new venture and renew our organisational commitment to timely reviewing of Australian children’s books.
Thank you to the CBCA team who have worked collegially on this new venture, particularly John Cohen, Hilary Cohen, Tina Cavanough, Trisha Buckley and John Chisholm.

Great online publication. Is there anyway I can subscribe so I don’t miss an edition?
Regards, Michelle
Hello Michelle
Thank you for your inquiry. As Reading Time is now in a digital format, we won’t be issuing editions as per a traditional journal. We will be rolling out content as it arrives, so new reviews, blog posts and interviews will be continuously added. But I agree we could do with the ability notify people when new material is posted. I will look into that.

Hello Michelle,
We now have an eNewsletter, so you’ll never miss a new post on Reading Time. You can sign up with your email address, using the box in the right hand column of the site.
Thanks again for the suggestion!

Good to see this beginning. How about a change of name and let Wendy do some design work on the home page?
Hi Ernie, Thanks for your comments. Our design is restricted by our software, but we do appreciate the feedback.

Welcome to this new development. May it flourish and may all those in the industry and those who simply love books and kids support it. I plan to visit often and will spread the word.
