The Mermaid Atlas takes readers on a trip around the world one continent at a time to discover the tales of merfolk that abound and the origins of these stories. From Melusine, the secret mermaid in France, to the Jiaoren in China to the Amazonian Iara in Brazil, the stories are mapped out on each continent and then told in further detail. There are also pages on ancient mermaids, mermaid homes and more. Each page is beautifully illustrated and there are lots of details to spy throughout. A gorgeously compiled and presented book for anyone interested in merfolk lore.
