Nicola Connelly’s text is beautifully simple and repetitive supporting a flow of language suitable for a younger audience. The use of descriptive phrases provides prompts for discussion or written responses about family members in a preschool or kindergarten classroom.
Illustrator, Annie White has used gentle water colours to create a fluffy, huggable bear whose size can be easily determined when compared to the little bluebird fluttering from page to page.
I recommend this sweet board book for ages 2-6 years.
