Ava and Genevieve are best friends from high school, who have just started college in different colleges on different sides of the United States. This novel is told in a series of text messages and emails between the pair, documenting their first year at university and out of home. The course of their lives naturally does not run smoothly and their friendship is tested as they change and grow.
This is an easy to read, entertaining and fun novel, though many of the issues confronted by Ava and Gen are serious. The authors are also best friends who have collaborated on a number of other projects including a YouTube channel (which they manage to reference in this book). It should appeal to older teens and people in their early twenties, but will probably be enjoyed more by girls than boys. It should do well in upper secondary and public libraries.
