Rachell Booker, We all Honk the Same, self-published, April 2019, 36 pp., RRP $16.50, ISBN 9780648477808
This is a gentle story about three geese each of whom looks very different: Franklin is tall and rotund, Albert is short with big webbed feet, and Harriet has a fluffy tail and a freckled beak. However they all make the same honking sound and in the end they realise that they don’t all have to look the same to be friends. Vive la difference! A simply told fable with amusing illustrations that young children will appreciate. There are several pages depicting gaggles of geese, but children will easily note the features that make some geese distinctive. Age 3-5.
