Puppy and his teddy, Bear, share their project of constructing a bed for themselves out of blocks. This is no easy task, especially when the blocks are all different sizes and shapes. Puppy and Bear demonstrate persistence and creativity in tackling their task and share in celebrating their success.
Puppy is an inviting character who is illustrated as a petite yet playful dog with a waggly tail. His facial expressions are simple yet effective in conveying curiosity, wonder and puzzlement throughout the story. On each page Puppy, Bear and the blocks are highlighted by a white background which focuses the audience’s attention on the characters and intended elements of the story.
The intention of this book is delivered simply for its target audience of 2-5 year olds, while also providing opportunity for further exploration and questioning as the child learns and develops.
